Government Web Portal

The ITO has been responsible for the development and operation of the Government of Saskatchewan central Web portal since a major reworking of the site was done in August 2000. Since then, the ITO has overseen several major functional and graphical redevelopments of the portal. The office is also responsible for coordinating responses to thousands of public inquiries received through the portal each year.

While the central portal contains basic information on government programs and services, its main purpose is to act as a public "jumping off" point to the myriad of information and services available on the Web sites of individual ministries and agencies. The popularity and success of the portal as an information and marketing vehicle for the government has increased every year since its launch. Public usage of the site has more than tripled since 2000.
