A new government-wide antivirus solution is protecting citizen information and greatly improved IT system security.

The Office of Geomatics Coordination (OGC) operates as a sub-branch of the ITO. The office coordinates, promotes and facilitates the development, effective use, and sharing of geographic information, and supports the Deputy Minister's Geomatics Council (DMGC).

OGC's responsibilities include: 

  • Facilitating effective use and sharing of geomatics data, as well as promoting and representing the province to federal/provincial bodies;
  • Promoting and administering directions and policy from the DMGC, as well as projects established and approved by the DMGC;
  • Providing a point of contact for Provincial Geomatics Governance and acting as provincial representative to the Canadian Council on Geomatics (CCOG) and other Federal and Inter-provincial forums;
  • Facilitating the growth of the geomatics industry sector in the province through outreach initiatives to private/public groups;
  • Coordinating geomatics services which facilitate the development of new projects, partnerships, and the geomatics industry;
  • Providing support to ministries/agencies and others managing geomatics-related initiatives through the provision of best practices and technology advice;
  • Developing and administering the geomatics service agreement with Information Services Corporation (ISC) for provisioning of geomatics products and services as may be required by the DMGC; and
  • Chairing the Business Advisory Board (BAB) and the Technical Advisory Board (TAB), and serving as liaison between all governance bodies.
