CommunityNet provides broadband access to more than 1,500 schools, health facilities, libraries and government offices in the province.

The Policy and Planning branch leads the ITO's policy development, legislative agenda, and major technology development efforts. It also takes the lead role on national telecommunications issues for the Government of Saskatchewan, including the continuing development of broadband technologies in the province.

The branch's main responsibilities are:

  • Citizen services initiatives
  • CommunityNet

  • Technology policy and planning
  • Intergovernmental relations
  • Security and privacy
  • Information management
  • Legislation and regulations
Communications Unit

The Communications Unit is also a part of the Policy and Planning Branch.
